The area is located 60 kilometres in the middle of the Hahnheide nature reserve not far from Trittau in the Stormarn district near the border with Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It is a 64-year-old mixed conifer stand of European larch, spruce, pine and Douglas fir with individual Norway spruce trees.

The area lies 60 km in the middle of the NSG Hahnheide not far from Trittau in the district of Stormarn near the border to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It is a 64-year-old mixed coniferous stand of European larch, spruce, pine and Douglas fir with individual oriental spruces.

This project involves a 2 hectares former spruce monoculture. We plan to reforest here with oak, tree hazel and bird cherry.
